Mark Candido – Chairman of the Board
With over four decades of banking experience and community involvement through volunteering in Connecticut, there is no better person to Chair our Board of Directors than Mark Candido. Mr. Candido is the co-founder and current president of Quinnipiac Bank in Hamden, CT. With his track record of successful leadership in our community, Mr. Candido embodies the spirit of economic development. Mark resides in Hamden, CT.
Paul Goodwin – Vice President
Paul Goodwin is a lifelong resident of the New Haven area. He served as Chairman of Eastern Steel & Metal Company 1980 – 1991 and has been President of New Haven Development Corporation since its incorporation. Paul was also the first Chairman of the New Haven Development Commission and as a former director of CTCIC he is uniquely qualified to provide experience and insight to our Board. Paul resides in Woodbridge, CT.
Mary Murphy – Treasurer
Mrs. Murphy is a Senior Vice President and the Manager of Commercial Loans for Liberty Bank. With 30 years of experience in commercial banking in Connecticut, she is active in financial education and community affairs. Leadership roles have included Chairwoman, Director and President of various non profit Boards and community organizations. Mary resides in New Britain, CT.
John Matthews – Secretary
Mr. Matthews heads a nine-person architectural practice, John A. Matthews AIA Architecture & Planning in Madison, CT. He is an award winning Registered Architect and a Registered Interior Designer in Connecticut. Mr. Matthews has been a Board member since 1977 and currently serves as Secretary of our Board. John resides in Madison, CT.
Fred Farnsworth – Assistant Secretary
Mr. Farnsworth is a lifelong resident of the New Haven area. He is former owner and President of Eastern Elevator Co., Inc. 1963 – 1998, a company founded by Fred’s grandfather in 1895. A Navy veteran of WWII, Fred served aboard the USS Fall River (CA 131) from May 1945 until July 1946. He is active in many community associations including: Board of Directors Connecticut Community Investment Corporation, past director New Haven Colony Historical Society and Elevator World Magazine, and a member of the New Haven Chamber of Commerce, Easter Seal Society, and the YMCA of New Haven, to name a few. Fred resides in Guilford, CT.
Jean Ferris – Director
Mrs. Ferris is currently a Financial Advisor with Yankee Cents Financials Services, located at 420 East Main Street, Building 1 in Branford, where she offers securities and advisory services through Commonwealth Financial Network (Commonwealth), Member FINRA/SIPC, a Registered Investment Adviser. Jean has been in commercial lending for 20 years. She is an award winning member of the Madison Chamber of Commerce as well as its past President. Jean resides in Madison, CT. Commonwealth and CTCIC are separate and unrelated entities.
Daniel J. McMahon - Director
Daniel J. McMahon, CPA has approximately 19 years of experience serving as an external accountant, auditor and business advisor to small and medium sized businesses. Dan’s primary focus is to advise companies on strategies and tactics related to corporate infrastructure, financial risks and growth. Dan was formerly an audit partner with CCR LLP, a regional accounting, tax and business advisory firm, where he also served as Partner-in-Charge of Sales and Marketing. In addition to serving on the CTCIC Board, Mr. McMahon currently serves as a member of the Exit Planning Exchange, Connecticut Chapter Board of Directors and as a member of the Board of Directors of The Sam & Elizabeth Colt American Cultural Heritage Foundation. Past community service includes serving as a member of the Town of Marlborough, Connecticut Board of Finance, as the workplace coordinator for the Greater Hartford Arts Council United Arts Campaign and as Treasurer for the DePaul University Young Alumni Association. Dan resides in Marlborough, Connecticut.
Jeffrey Vose – Director
Mr. Vose, who most recently served as Vice President of Economic Development and Municipal Services for the Metro Hartford Alliance, is a senior level administrator with 27 years of corporate, private, non-profit, and institutional real estate and economic development experience. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Northeastern Economic Development Association and strongly supports a personal approach to economic development. Jeff resides in Columbia, CT.
Stephen Miller – Director
Mr. Miller is the owner of Levey Miller Maretz, LLC — a commercial real estate firm in Woodbridge, CT. His professional real estate experience spans 20 years. As a former co-owner and real estate investor for Jimmy’s Army Navy stores in West Haven & Bridgeport, CT, Mr. Miller brings the entrepreneurial point of view to our Board. Steve resides in Woodbridge, CT.
Jeff Hubbard – Director
Mr. Hubbard is Regional Vice President for TD Bank and was previously Senior Vice President, Market Credit Officer at Bank of America. He has been in Connecticut Commercial Banking for 22 years. Mr. Hubbard has been responsible for a team of commercial lenders and has successfully launched three segmented industry efforts at Webster: Medical Financial Services, Association Financial Services and Business Deposit Services. Jeff resides in Guilford, CT.
Tim Bergstom – Director
Mr. Bergstrom is Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Webster Bank’s Business Banking division. Tim brings over 20 years of credit and commercial lending experience to the Board of Directors. In addition to his service on the CTCIC Board, Tim is active with a number of community and philanthropic organizations, serving on the boards of the United Way of Greater Waterbury, the New Britain Museum of American Art and the New Britain Chamber of Commerce. Tim resides in Burlington, CT.
Tom Banisch – Director
Mr. Banisch is General Manager of T.J. Banisch, LLC and its on-line trading entity chemswap.com. He has been in the chemical business for 40 years, beginning at a chemical distribution company in Providence, RI, he later worked for two chemical manufacturing companies before starting his first chemical distribution business in 1985. Since then, he has created the first on-line trading site for excess inventories of chemicals and equipment. Tom Resides in Madison, CT.
